Terms & Conditions
Last updated 27 June 2026
These terms govern your use of the HalalCook website and apps. Please read them carefully. By using HalalCook, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
1. Who we are
HalalCook is operated by Kayani Labs, a trading name of Kayani Group Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company no. 16415459). “We”, “us” and “our” refer to Kayani Labs; “you” refers to you, the user.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use HalalCook. By using it, you confirm you can form a binding agreement with us and that the information you give us is accurate.
3. The service we provide
HalalCook helps you find recipes, checks ingredients, labels them (for example Halal, Mushbooh or Haram), suggests halal alternatives, and offers tools such as recipe import, meal planning and cookbooks. We may add, change or remove features over time.
4. Halal, dietary and allergen guidance — important
HalalCook provides information and AI-assisted guidance to help you identify ingredients that may not be halal and to suggest alternatives. This is guidance only — it is not a religious ruling (fatwa) and is not a substitute for your own judgement.
- Ingredient classifications can be incomplete or wrong, and the halal status of a product can depend on its brand, sourcing, certification and region.
- You are responsible for checking that ingredients and finished dishes meet your own halal requirements, and for consulting a qualified scholar where appropriate.
- HalalCook is not a medical, nutritional or allergen-advice service. If you have allergies or dietary-health needs, always check product labelling and seek professional advice — do not rely on the app.
To the extent permitted by law, we don’t guarantee that any recipe, label or swap is correct or suitable for your particular circumstances.
5. Your account
You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think your account has been used without your permission.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use HalalCook for any unlawful purpose or to break any applicable law;
- copy, scrape, or bulk-extract our content or data except as the service intends;
- interfere with, overload, or try to gain unauthorised access to the service or its systems;
- upload content that is illegal, infringing, or that you don’t have the right to share.
7. Content you provide
You keep ownership of recipes and other content you create or import. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that content so we can provide the service to you (for example, to display and sync it across your devices). You’re responsible for ensuring you have the right to import any content, and for respecting the licence terms of its original source.
8. Our content and recipe data
The HalalCook name, branding, software and original content are owned by Kayani Group Ltd and protected by intellectual-property laws. Parts of our recipe catalogue are sourced from third parties, including TheMealDB and Wikibooks, and remain subject to their respective licences and attribution requirements.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep HalalCook available and working, but we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend, withdraw or change all or part of the service, and during the pre-launch period some features may be unavailable.
10. Disclaimers
Except as set out in these terms and as required by law, HalalCook is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the service will meet your requirements.
11. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. We also don’t exclude any rights you have as a consumer that can’t be excluded under law.
Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for losses arising from your reliance on guidance the service provides (including halal classifications and swaps) where you could reasonably have verified the position yourself.
12. Suspension and termination
You can stop using HalalCook and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to others or to us.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “last updated” date above, and for significant changes we’ll give you reasonable notice. Continuing to use HalalCook after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have jurisdiction — except that if you live elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction.
